Gearbox PRO Power Integra Carbon Fiber Pickleball Paddle

"Innovative to the Core"

Powerful, precise, and predatory...the Gearbox PRO Power Integra Pickleball Paddle is built for players who relish dominating the court. The power in this paddle starts with, and comes predominately from, the 14mm (0.55") suspended carbon fiber SST Core. Like the control paddles in the PRO line, this core consists of carbon tubes which expand the sweet spot, limit vibrations, and deliver impressive energy return back to the ball. The major difference in the Power variations of Gearbox's PRO paddles is that the core is unattached (or "suspended") from the edges. This allows it to rebound substantially more, adding pop and power to well struck shots and mis-hits alike.

With all of the power packed into the core of the PRO Power Intergra paddle, it needs some control-oriented attributes to help you harness it. Enter the 16" by 7-3/8" overall proportions, and Toray T-700 raw carbon fiber face. Gearbonx's TXR Surface Grip Technology builds the roughness of the face material into the mold of the paddle, so the texture is sure to be long-lasting (unlike many paint-grit approaches). The surface material under this texture is extremely rigid, to compress the ball, adding dwell time for added control and a surprising degree of power during hands battles near the net. The 5-1/2" long handle allows you to wield all of this power with two hands if needed, and even works to add just a little more swing speed.

Lastly, the "quiet tech" engineered into the PRO paddle models from Gearbox Pickleball ensures the "pop" of ball against paddle is created at a lower decibel level, which makes this paddle great at disguising the power behind your shots, while meeting noise restriction guidelines in communities which enforce them. Compare the Gearbox PRO Power Fusion pickleball paddle to other traditional paddles, and you'll definitely notice the difference.

This paddle has an outstanding performance, while giving me power I still have good control. Very happy with it, moved from a Gearbox C14

This is my second Gearbox Pro paddle. I tried the Elongated one first, sold it, now am on the the shorter version of the Power series. OMG, this paddle has upped my game so much it's ridiculous. Try one and see what I mean.

So, I've became a big fan of Gearbox paddles thanks to pro Jeff Warnick and his use of the GX5, CX11 power paddles. I followed suit when he upgraded to the Fusion Pro Power and it hasn't disappointed me either. It's got great power and I've been able to win a lot of hand battles with little effort. Highly recommended for power players.

  • Great Paddle but not the best

The paddle is great but I still like my Selkirk better. I bought this because of all the great reviews on power but it was not more powerful than my Selkirk Vanguard Power Air. Its still a great overall paddel.

  • Two more things!

I'm adding a second review because there were a couple things I forgot to include. 1. I remember hearing in some of the comments that there is a "settling" period where the touch and feel of the paddle changes. I started noticing even more power during the second week of play. 2. The spin on this paddle comes more from how the ball sinks into and is "held" by the paddle rather than from the surface grit. This feels slightly different than my Black Ace paddle because it holds the ball slightly longer. It also seems to exaggerate the spin production. I'm still dialing it in but I love it!

After getting tennis elbow a year and a half ago I switched to Prokennex paddles, and ended up with the Black Ace for the last 8 months. I loved it, but wished it was slightly less poppy sometimes. This led me to purchasing the Gearbox Pro Power Fusion after watching multiple reviews, reading comments, and engaging with those who had played with them. I was torn between the control and power, and it would still be nice to test them side by side. However, the power fusion was available. And I took a gamble on it. I ordered it on a Friday night and received it Monday. It was in a bubble wrap envelope and looked fine on inspection. The next day I played singles with it for a few hours. The first hour was rough as I was getting used to the touch. But things started working like crazy after that. In the few weeks that I have played with it now, it seems like it has the same power as the Black Ace, possibly more, but when hit softly, it's quite a bit less intense. I now describe it as a really sensitive gas pedal, where the car moves slowly with a feather light touch, but takes off really fast with any pressure. In this sense, it feels like it has much more range than the Black Ace, which was power all the time. I'm still adjusting my reflexes to this new range, but I'm really excited for the flexibility it will give me as I dial it in. I think some more drilling sessions where I am responding to alternating drives and dinks will help my reflexes.

Really good paddle with better than average power and surprisingly good touch and feel when dinking and punch volleys at the net. The only shots I struggled with was resets and drops from the baseline but I'm sure that would change if I decided to keep using the paddle. I like paddles and the paddle that works best for me at this time is the Muvn Gruvn 13S which is a great all-around doubles paddle.

This paddle had noticeable power for the first several hours of play. After that, the paddle's power was diminished and it no longer plays like the reviews on the internet. The power was lacking and paddle became rather ordinary. The lack of power is disappointing.
