Gearbox PRO Control Elongated Carbon Fiber Pickleball Paddle

"Innovative to the Core"

Designed for control players who desire the added reach of an elongated shape, the Gearbox PRO Control Elongated Pickleball Paddle will help you battle near the net while dictating the pace of play. The heart of the control and performance of this paddle is Gearbox's proprietary 14mm (0.55") carbon fiber SST Core which uses vertically aligned carbon fiber tubes (instead of polypropylene honeycomb) to achieve a large sweet spot and impressive vibration damping. The result is a paddle that helps you place precise dinks, trust your fast hands during battles at the net, and reset clinically to grab control of the point.

The PRO Control Elongated Paddle from Gearbox Pickleball relies on the SST Core for performance, and is complemented perfectly by the raw Toray T-700 carbon fiber face material and TXR Surface Grip Technology. You want spin? The PRO Control Fusion delivers! The 16.5" by 7-3/8" overall dimensions earn the "elongated" label, while consistency of ball response across the face and forgiveness of mis-hits follow through on the "control" promise. This hitting surface stretches all the way to the edge due to the edge guard-free design that Gearbox has come to be known for.

Finally, this paddle is ideal for noise-restricted communities due to the "quiet tech" Gearbox has engineered into their PRO series paddles which emits a lower-decibel level "knock" of ball against paddle. This unique sounds also serves to disguise the degree of power behind your drives and overheads, and will be noticeable right away as compared to other pickleball paddles.

I’m on my 4th Gearbox paddle and my latest is the Pro Control elongated and simply love it! I felt it helped my ‘control’ without losing any pop from my previous CX-14e! It is a quality paddle that I see more and more of them on the courts! “Paddle up”

The GBP elongated control has a really sweet touch. It’s muted, plush, thuddy. Sounds like that solid thud when you close a Mercedes door. Great for control, resets, lobs, dinks - and has a ton of power. Spin? I guess because of the carbon tubes inside the paddle it takes some break in time. I was reluctant to get this for the fact that GB paddles were always at the bottom of the spin chart. This paddle is growing on me, but to be honest, my CRBN1, Volare Forza, Engage Pro elongated control, Legacy pro, Diadem 18K and almost every other paddle in my bag has as much or more spin. I’m really trying to like this paddle. Let’s see what happens in the next few weeks. Would I recommend this? Probably if I didn’t have the other paddles in my bag. Will I keep the GBP? Jury is still out.
