Selkirk VANGUARD Power Air Epic Pickleball Paddle
The VANGUARD Power Air Epic measures 15-3/4" long, and 8" wide enabling consistent all court play. The polymer core is 1/2" (0.5") thick, and the weight range is 7.7 – 8.1 ounces, with a weight average of 7.9 oz., and features a slightly longer handle than other models at 5-1/4" long.
Please note, because this is a truly edgeless paddle it will chip if struck against the court surface. We recommend applying one to two layers of electrical tape or branded edge guard tape to the edges of this paddle for protection against damage.
The VANGUARD Power Air Epic from Selkirk Pickleball takes the latest technology from Selkirk, and offers players of higher skill levels a paddle with all of the technology and spin capability we've ever seen from Selkirk in one package.
Actual grip sizes may vary up to 1/8".
Reviews of the VANGUARD Power Air Epic Paddle by Pickleball Central Staff:
"It was fun to see the work that was done by Selkirk Labs turn into a product that is available to all. The Vanguard Power Air Epic was a surprising paddle on first hit. The power was the first thing that jumped (pun intended) off the paddle. The feel of the paddle was familiar in the balance, shape and sweet spot location of the Epic line. But the way way the ball felt on drives was new for a Selkirk paddle. More than AMPED, but not quite as powerful as the Labs 002.
Then, when I worked my way to the net, I found the paddle was very consistent on dinks. I also found that with the texture of the paddle I could attack more balls as I was able to shape the shot with top spin to keep it in.
If someone sees the name Vanguard and is looking for a similar feel to the VANGUARD 2.0 series, they will be in for a shock. This paddle is not designed to be a soft, hyper-control paddle. This is truly a power paddle that has the added bonuses of consistency and spin.
If you're searching for a paddle which performs well in all the same ways, but is a bit more approachable to players in terms of skill and price point, I encourage you to try the SLK Omega Max by Selkirk."

Pickleball Paddle

It is a nice paddle ..I have played with other very nice paddles . I Would classify its performance as in the top 3 out of 27 different paddle of various brands . I Can not say for sure since my perfect weight for a paddle is 7.6 oz. and even though I requested 7.7 oz. , I opted to accept a 7.8 for the sake of convenience of earliest possible delivery. I am a little disappointed with a paddle on the upper end of price not being sent with a neoprene cover. The action indicates that your pride in the paddle is second to profit

I love the paddle but it should have come with a cover for the amount of money I paid.

Power Air

The paddle has a lot of power, but the feel is taking a while to get use to and control is an issue!
