The 16.5" by 7-3/8" overall dimensions earn the "elongated" label, while consistency of ball response across the face and forgiveness of mis-hits follow through on the "control" promise. This hitting surface stretches all the way to the edge due to the edge guard-free design that Gearbox has come to be known for.
