Updated October 2026. A paddle bag is the second thing most players buy and the one they keep the longest. We stock more than 60 pickleball bags, and these nine are the ones that sell, get good reviews, and survive a season of being thrown in the back of a car. Every pick holds at least two paddles in a padded pocket and has somewhere to put a water bottle. Prices are what we charge today; several of these go on sale through the holidays.

Best overall backpack: Paddletek Tour Backpack

Paddletek Pickleball Tour Backpack

More than 1,000 players have bought the Tour Backpack from us and the ones who reviewed it average 4.9 out of 5, which is the highest score of any bag we carry. It fits up to five paddles in a padded compartment, keeps shoes in a vented pocket away from everything else, and has a padded pouch for a laptop or tablet. The front opens straight into the main compartment, so you are not digging past paddles for a shirt. It is the bag our staff reach for when they are playing after work.

  • Who it's for: players who go straight from the office to the court and carry everything.
  • Carries: up to 5 paddles, shoes, laptop, clothing, bottles.
  • Price: $124.99. Shop the Tour Backpack

Best value backpack: JOOLA Vision II

JOOLA Vision II pickleball backpack in Daytona Gray

The Vision II is the backpack we sell the most of, and at $59.95 it is easy to see why. It measures 20 by 12 by 8 inches, which is big enough for paddles, shoes and a change of clothes without being a hiking pack, and the main zipper runs almost the full length of the bag so you can open it flat. The shell is 600D polyester with a softer 210D lining, there is a laptop pouch inside, and the interior compartments keep balls, grips and keys separated.

  • Who it's for: the two-days-a-week player who wants one clean, compact bag.
  • Carries: paddles, shoes, laptop, accessories. 20 x 12 x 8 inches.
  • Price: $59.95. Shop the Vision II

Best sling: Pickleball Fanatic Sling Bag

Pickleball Fanatic sling bag

Nearly 4,000 of these have gone out the door and 285 customers have reviewed it at 4.5 stars, which for a bag that is often under $10 on sale is remarkable. It holds around four paddles and three or more balls, has a Velcro outer pocket and a mesh pocket sized for a water bottle, and the padded shoulder strap adjusts. It comes in green, blue and gray. If you walk or bike to your courts, this is all the bag you need.

  • Who it's for: rec players, kids, and anyone who wants a second bag for the car.
  • Carries: about 4 paddles, 3+ balls, a bottle.
  • Price: $24.99, frequently on sale. Shop the Fanatic Sling

Best under $100: Selkirk Core Series Team Backpack

Selkirk Core Series Team pickleball backpack in Canyon Clay

Selkirk's Core Series comes in three sizes and the Team is the one to buy. It sits between the smaller Day pack and the big Tour pack, and it adds a rigid EVA top that keeps paddle edges from getting crushed when the bag is dropped. There is a padded laptop sleeve, external organizer pockets for the things you grab between games, and a +V11 polyfiber shell that has held up well in the year we have carried it. More than 600 have sold since launch.

  • Who it's for: league and tournament players who want paddle protection without a tour-bag price.
  • Carries: paddles under a hard top, laptop, accessories.
  • Price: $79.99. Shop the Core Series Team · Day · Tour

Best premium backpack: Six Zero Performance Backpack

Six Zero Performance pickleball backpack in Amethyst

This is the best-built backpack we sell. The upper is abrasion-resistant Cordura, the bottom is tarpaulin you can set down on wet concrete, and a C-shaped opening gives you the whole 45-liter main compartment at once. It holds two paddles or a paddle and a laptop in the main compartment, keeps up to six balls in an external holder you can reach without taking the bag off, and has an insulated pocket for snacks and a cold drink. It looks like a good travel pack because it is one.

  • Who it's for: players who travel to play and want one bag for the court and the flight.
  • Carries: 45 liters, 2 paddles, 6 balls, laptop, insulated food pocket.
  • Price: $110. Shop the Performance Backpack

Best tour bag: Six Zero Pro Tour Bag

Six Zero Pro pickleball tour bag

Tournament players carry two or three paddles, a backup, shoes, a change of clothes and food for a 10-hour day. The Pro Tour Bag is built for that. Two thermal-lined pockets hold six paddles, padded straps let it ride as a backpack or carry as a duffle, and an insulated pocket keeps drinks cold through the afternoon bracket. The external accessory pockets are where your grips, tape and ibuprofen live. It is the largest bag in this guide and the one we see most often at PPA Tour events.

  • Who it's for: tournament players and coaches.
  • Carries: 6 paddles, shoes, clothing, insulated food and drink.
  • Price: $149.99. Shop the Pro Tour Bag

Best tote: Born to Rally Court Bag

Born to Rally pickleball court bag in teal

Not everyone wants a backpack. The Born to Rally Court Bag is a shoulder tote in allover prints with a dedicated two-paddle pocket, and it is the best-selling bag we carry from a lifestyle brand with more than 500 sold. The face fabric is oxford nylon, which survives fences and car trunks far better than canvas, and the organizer pockets inside are sized for phone, keys and a tube of balls. It looks as good at brunch as it does courtside, which is the point.

  • Who it's for: players who want a bag that does not look like sports equipment.
  • Carries: 2 paddles, balls, personal items.
  • Price: $69.99. Shop the Court Bag

Best sling upgrade: CRBN Pro Team Sling Bag

CRBN Pro Team pickleball sling bag

If you like the sling format but want it to last, this is the one. CRBN uses a water-resistant nylon, a padded main compartment for paddles, a thermal-lined pocket that keeps a drink cold, and a laptop sleeve, which no other sling in our catalog has. The padded strap swaps shoulders quickly, so it works for a bike commute. It costs more than twice the Fanatic sling and is worth it if you carry a sling every day.

  • Who it's for: daily sling carriers who want a laptop sleeve and weather protection.
  • Carries: paddles in a padded pocket, laptop, cold drink.
  • Price: $59.99. Shop the Pro Team Sling

Best for shoes: Diadem Tour V3 Backpack

Diadem Tour V3 pickleball backpack in blue

Court shoes should never share a compartment with your clothes. The Tour V3 gives them their own, next to a paddle pocket that holds three paddles and two main pockets with dividers. Padded, breathable shoulder straps and padded grab handles make it comfortable at full load, and an external bottle pocket keeps water within reach. At $84.95 it is the cheapest backpack we sell with a real shoe compartment.

  • Who it's for: players who change shoes at the court and want them sealed off.
  • Carries: 3 paddles, shoes, clothing, bottle.
  • Price: $84.95. Shop the Tour V3

How to choose a pickleball bag

  • Count your paddles. Rec players carry one or two. League players carry a backup. Tournament players carry three or more plus a spare. Buy for the number you actually bring.
  • Decide on shoes. If you change shoes at the court, a separate vented shoe compartment is worth $20 to $40 extra. The Paddletek Tour, Diadem Tour V3 and Six Zero Pro Tour all have one.
  • Sling for short trips, backpack for long ones. A sling is lighter and faster to grab. A backpack carries weight better over a walk and holds a laptop.
  • Look for a thermal-lined paddle pocket if you live somewhere hot. Paddle cores do not like a 130-degree car trunk. The Six Zero and CRBN bags line theirs.
  • Buy once. Bags are the one piece of gear that does not go out of date. Spend for the build you will still like in three years.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best pickleball bag?

The Paddletek Tour Backpack is our best overall: five paddles, a vented shoe compartment and a laptop pouch, with a 4.9-star average. For most rec players the JOOLA Vision II at $59.95 is the better buy.

Do I need a bag made for pickleball?

Not strictly, but a pickleball bag has a padded paddle pocket that keeps edge guards from getting crushed and faces from getting scratched, and most have a thermal lining or a separate shoe compartment. Regular backpacks have neither.

Sling or backpack?

Sling if you carry one or two paddles and a bottle to local courts. Backpack if you carry shoes, a change of clothes or a laptop, or if you play more than an hour away from home.

How many paddles should a bag hold?

One more than you own. Players tend to add a second paddle within a year, and a backup is standard once you play league or tournaments.
