Trident Composite Pickleball Paddle

The Trident Composite Pickleball Paddle presents a new skin created by Engage called GripTEK. This 5-layered material has the maximum amount of roughness allowed by the USAPA and resists wear over time. It improves a player's ability to add spin, feel the hand-paddle connection and achieve precision placement. In addition, the soft feel of the paddle is designed for control yet has enough power for slams when needed.

The Trident Composite Pickleball Paddle has a broad sweet spot thanks to the 8-1/8" width and reacts evenly regardless of where you hit on its surface. Its weight range is 7.3 - 7.8 oz. The handle is 5" long and the grip is a medium circumference, providing extra cushioning and perforations to prevent sweat from interfering with your play. The paddle has the word "Trident" running vertically in the middle of its face with a series of dots in the background.

The Trident Composite Pickleball Paddle has a versatile design made with superior technology that will let you make the most out of your skills.

Actual grip sizes may vary up to 1/8".

Transcript of Video #1 - Rafael Siebenschein

Hello, my name is Rafael Siebenschein. I am originally from Switzerland, and I'm now living in Holly Springs, North Carolina, here today to show you the Trident. It's one of Engage's newer paddles, and I've just switched to it. It's a great paddle. I love it because it gives me a lot of power while still maintaining really good and solid touch. I can do really nice blocking with it. It's really nice for the third shots and the feel. It's got a really, really good sweet spot so most of the paddle is a sweet spot so even if I don't hit the ball right in the center of the paddle I still feel like I know where the ball's going and I can control it really well. I also can hit a lot of spin with it, which is important because I am from a tennis background and I like to roll or hit topspin on my ball. They come in all kinds of weights. I'm usually around 7.9 or a little bit on the lower end. That's mainly because I can generate plenty of speed myself. Yeah, I think that's it but it's a great paddle. It's their newest paddle, or one of their newer paddles so go and try it out.

Reviews of the Engage Trident Pickleball Paddle by Pickleball Central Staff:

"When I came in today, our Product Manager wanted me to test the new Trident Pickleball Paddle from Engage Sporting. I personally enjoy paddles with more touch and ball feel (like Engage's Poach Icon introduced in November 2018), so when this hit my desk, I was on the court in a hurry. My first reaction was that this paddle plays soft, which is a very positive thing. Generally we as players can generate enough power to put a ball away, but what we need is control to hit properly measured drops, dinks, and blocks. This is where the Trident shines. I felt like I could 'feel' the ball as it impacted and rebounded off the paddle, what tennis players sometimes refer to as sensing the dwell of the ball on the racquet. The softer feel makes a more linear sweet spot with the center of the sweet spot not being too different from balls hit two inches off center. This allows you to still get a decent shot in play when balls end up being hit closer to the edge guard. I would classify this as a very high quality game improvement paddle for players looking for something that gives a bit of pop, without sacrificing a lot of control. Great job, Engage!"

"Engage continues to test and build paddles with a varied and unique combinations of cores and face skin materials. Here in March of 2019, they've come our with a new paddle utilizing a new face material - their Grip TEK surface. The Trident paddle has a wide body shape, measuring 8 1/8 across, making it a great blocking and defensive paddle. The weight is a bit biased towards the head, but the 8.0 oz paddle I hit with seemed to play lighter than that. The ultra cushion grip also made the paddle feel good in my hand. Engage paddles have a reputation for power, but this one played softer (which I think is a great thing for game improvement of intermediate 3.0 - 4.0 players.) After a little transition period, I found the paddle had enough pop. On the short shots, I felt connected to the shot as it come off the paddle. When I focused on the shots and hit on the sweet spot, the softness of the shot was a real plus. This is a paddle that I think will favor defensive minded players looking for a little extra surface texture to produce spin on their shots. I like that Engage continues to mix up their recipes to produce paddles for many different player types. This one will be enjoyed by players looking for control, touch, and a softer feel."

I purchased the paddle approximately three weeks ago. The paddle is ultra light. Defensive strikes are difficult to keep in bounds. The paddle performs best on my fast serve and backhand return. The balls have the rotation I prefer. I play PB five days a week sessions of two -three hours. The paddle is seeing alot of action. I do recommend for some aspects of my game, but defensively I have to figure something out to improve performance. Any tips, please let me know.

I am new to the game and didn’t want to spend a lot of money before I really started to play. This paddle is light enough but powerful enough to get the job done. Comfortable in your hand.

I had a basic "starter" paddle for several years. My new Trident paddle really is great and is fun to use.

The Trident Composite Pickleball paddle's original price was $99.99 & I saved $20. Be sure to look up the tab that says "sales". I found a racket with ALL the features I wanted, especially a larger sweet spot. I worked today. On our "0, 0, Start" round we won 7-0 (we often play shorter games if their are more people). My game improved as soon as I bought the racket!!!

I ordered via phone call (very simple to do) and was sent a tracking number. But I couldn't get the tracking page to use, and I couldn't register my paddle. Maybe because I didn't do the order online? Would like to register though.

I wasn’t looking to spend a fortune on a paddle, and the trident is a great mid range price point. It’s a great balance of control and power. Oh, and Pickleball Central does a great job of shipping right away!
