RPM Friction Pro Elongated V2 Pickleball Paddle

Built for aggressive players who want added reach and cleaner ball acceleration, the RPM Friction Pro Elongated V2 Pickleball Paddle uses a 16.5in x 7.5in shape to extend coverage on volleys, overheads, and singles passing shots. This elongated platform gives us more reach and a more power-oriented launch profile, making it easier to attack off the bounce, pressure from midcourt, and finish points with depth and pace.

Co-designed with James Ignatowich and developed through RPM LABS, this paddle combines CarbonBite Surface technology, Axial Carbon Layup, an enhanced EVA foam ring, and a Tri-Density Core to deliver explosive response with a larger, more playable sweet spot. On court, that translates to heavy spin, confident drives, and the ability to shape aggressive shots without losing connection on resets and blocks. The 14mm plays quicker with a more immediate release, while the 16mm adds dwell and a more stable, controlled feel through contact.

+ Key Features
  • CarbonBite Carbon Fiber Surface - High-friction carbon fiber face engineered to increase ball bite, helping us generate heavier topspin on drives, rolls, and dipping passing shots.
  • Axial Carbon Layup - New V2 carbon layering designed to improve energy transfer and reinforce the face, giving the paddle a more explosive yet connected response.
  • Enhanced EVA Foam Ring - Upgraded perimeter foam helps enlarge the sweet spot and stabilize the paddle, especially when contact drifts outside the center of the face.
  • Tri-Density Core Technology - Three material densities work together to maintain solidity toward the edges and create a more forgiving response across the face.
  • Elongated 16.5in x 7.5in Shape - Extended reach and added leverage give us more coverage on volleys and more natural power on serves, drives, and overhead attacks.
+ 14mm | Faster Launch and More Offensive Pop
The 14mm version is the quicker, more explosive option in the lineup. With its thinner core, lower 113 swing weight, and firmer response, it gets through the ball fast on drives, counters, and speed-ups. This is the version for players who like to attack early, flick aggressively in hand battles, and use the elongated shape to generate easy depth and pressure. Compared to the 16mm, it feels more reactive and maneuverable, though it gives up a bit of dwell time and plushness in the soft game.
+ 16mm | More Stability, Pocketing, and Control
The 16mm version adds mass through the core for a more settled response, more dwell, and better shock absorption. With a 117 swing weight, it carries heavier through the ball and feels more stable when blocking pace or driving through contact. We still get elite spin and put-away potential, but the added thickness makes the power feel easier to manage on resets, drops, and controlled counters. Compared to the 14mm, it is the more forgiving and composed choice, especially for players who want reach and offense without losing stability.

Expert Review
"The combination of spin, reach, and power is what defines this paddle. You feel it most on attacking shots, with the 14mm playing faster off the face and the 16mm giving you a more controlled, composed response."

Frequently Asked Questions

+ What is the difference between the 14mm and 16mm RPM Friction Pro Elongated V2?
The 14mm is quicker and more reactive, with faster rebound on drives, counters, and hand battles. The 16mm adds dwell time, stability, and a more controlled feel on resets, blocks, and full swings.
+ Who should choose the 14mm version?
Players who like to attack, speed up off the bounce, and use quick hands at the kitchen will get the most out of the 14mm.
+ Who should choose the 16mm version?
Players who want elongated reach and power but still value stability, forgiveness, and a more composed response should choose the 16mm.
+ How does the Elongated V2 compare to the RPM Friction Pro Widebody?
The Elongated V2 gives us more reach, more leverage, and a more power-driven response. The Widebody is more forgiving across the face and feels a little easier to manage in fast doubles exchanges.
+ Is one thickness better for singles or doubles?
The 14mm leans more naturally into aggressive singles and fast attacking play, while the 16mm is the more balanced option if you want elongated reach in doubles without sacrificing too much control.
