HEAD Radical Tour Raw Carbon Fiber Paddle

Designed for a balanced and familiar feel, but with the control and spin of "raw" carbon texture, the HEAD Radical Tour Raw Pickleball Paddle takes the venerable Radical line up a big notch. The recognizeably-HEAD teardrop shape gets maximum USA Pickleball proportions with its 16-1/16" length and 7-7/8" width, easily weilded from its 5" long handle and tapered neck. The new carbon fiber hitting surface offers optimal grip on the ball and a soft, comfortable hitting feel resulting in very control-oriented performance. The best part of this new face material is the raised texture of the individual carbon fibers which grab the ball as it lingers, allowing you to impart spin in any direction, opening up a world of options with your cuts, slices, and topspin drives.

HEAD backs up the highly controllable hitting surface of the Radical Tour Raw Paddle with a polypropylene honeycomb core measuring 15mm (0.59") in thickness, and a midweight design averaging 7.9 ounces to help you feel confident and in control from the first point of the day until match point. The combination of the carbon fiber face and 15mm core further contribute to this confidence and control by stretching the central sweet spot, limiting power loss on off-center strikes, and reducing vibrations that can travel up your arm and cause fatigue or injury. The 5" long handle arrives wrapped in a standard tacky grip, and is offered in two different circumferences which allows you to easily build up your handle with overgrips until you reach your optimal handle thickness, if needed.

The Radical Tour Raw Paddle from HEAD Pickleball delivers "raw" spin for players who appreciate HEAD's familiar build quality and stellar reputation for quality products.

SUPER forgiving, with a GENEROUS sweet-spot, TONS of spin and control and an overall solid feel. I've played some of my best pickleball recently with this paddle and really enjoy its feel & construction... To the reviewer that complained about the edge-guard - maybe you need to not drag your paddle on the ground so much? I've got a couple of scuff-marks on mine over the last six weeks or so, and have had NO issues whatsoever, so please don't let that one review dissuade you from considering this awesome paddle...> The only one I like a bit better comes from a vendor not carried here, so we won't get into that... Buy this paddle with confidence, and HEAD got it right with this one!!!

For me this paddle does everything well. The sweet spot is very good and allows for great overall control at net. It feels lighter to me than the weight reflects for some reason allowing for great maneuverability and catching fast volleys more easily than with some paddles. Driving the ball and spin takes more effort than I would expect from raw carbon fiber, but it is there, just not as much as I've seen from some other paddles. The main downside I've found with this paddle is control when serving. With my Engage EX 6.0 I can place the ball anywhere I want for serves every time, down the T, out wide, deep, wherever, but with this paddle it isn't as controlled and I'm not sure why. They all still go in, but the fine placement isn't there. Finally, I really like the grip. It feels closer to a tennis racquet grip to me, which I prefer.

I have actively been playing for over 4 years. This is a great paddle, with a phenomenal feel. HOWEVER, the edgeguard is extremely sensitive. I’ve had two paddles break in a little over 2 months time. I believe Head has a serious issue with this paddle.***PBC Response*** Thanks for taking the time to leave a review! Love the new paddle so far. My previous paddle seemed to have some dead spots so no longer a concern. I like the surface - I think it has improved my slice. Good consistent responsiveness when blocking a smash. Grip size is perfect as well as the feel of the grip itself - did not require any acclimating. All in all very happy with it!
