Dunlop AG Three v1.0 Pickleball Paddle

If we’re the ones looking to speed the point up, the Dunlop AG Three v1.0 Pickleball Paddle gives us the kind of power that still feels connected to the shot. The X3 Foam Core adds real push through the ball without making the response feel jumpy or loose.

What we notice most is how composed that power feels. Dunlop’s racket sport background comes through in the way the frame stays organized through contact, especially on rushed balls and off-center counters. Compared to the AG Five, this version is easier for us to manage because the thermoformed build broadens the usable sweet spot and keeps the face steadier. We still get the aggressive intent the AG series is built around, but here it arrives with more control and better repeatability.

Key Features

  • X3 Foam Core - Full foam Gen 4 construction designed to create explosive power with added dwell and better control across the face.
  • Unique All Court Shape - A standard 16" length but a slightly narrow shape balances defense and hand speed.
  • Thermoformed Frame - Reinforces the structure for a more stable sweet spot and more controllable power.
  • Peel Ply Max T700 Carbon Face - Textured carbon surface helps us shape spin and keep the ball from sailing.
  • Power-First Stability - Tuned for aggressive play, but with a more settled response than the AG Five.

Expert Review
"The AG Three gives us power we can actually aim. It still hits hard, but the added stability makes counters and resets feel way more controlled than most foam-core power paddles."

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the AG Three compare to the AG Five?
When we hit both, the AG Five is clearly the more explosive of the two. It feels firmer, faster, and a little more demanding when we are really unloading on the ball. The AG Three keeps a lot of that same attacking identity, but the thermoformed build makes it easier for us to control in hands battles, transition shots, and off-center contact. If we want power with a little more margin, this is the easier paddle to trust.
Who should use the AG Three?
We like it for players who naturally look to initiate. If we are driving thirds, speeding up from the kitchen, or leaning on counters to pressure opponents, the AG Three fits that mindset really well. It is still a power paddle, but it does not feel one-dimensional.
What makes this different from other power paddles?
A lot of power paddles feel great when we strike them cleanly, then get erratic when the rally speeds up. The AG Three feels more organized than that. We can feel the frame doing a better job of staying stable, so the ball leaves the face with more predictable depth and direction even when our contact is rushed.
How does it compare to CR or TT paddles?
The AG line is the clear power option in this lineup. When we switch to CR, we feel more balance between offense and touch. When we switch to TT, the focus shifts even more toward control, stability, and deliberate placement. AG is the paddle family for players who want to be the ones applying pressure first.
Does the foam core feel soft or stiff?
It gives us some of both. On touch shots we still feel enough dwell to keep the ball on the strings a moment longer, but when we accelerate, the core firms up and drives through the shot. It does not feel mushy, and it does not feel overly harsh either.
