"Our team was excited to try the Vulcan ball as it was being evaluated for the PPA Tour. Our play test group consisted of players from 3.5 – 4.5 skill levels, all of whom have hit thousands of pickleballs. During our session, we included the other top balls on the market to compare. Here is what the group determined:The VPRO Flight is a fast and responsive ball. The stiff construction allows the ball to sink into the paddle face on contact, making it easy to generate spin and shape the ball on court. In our play test, the bounce was consistent and let us forget about the ball and totally focus on our game. The neon green color is a huge step forward in visibility that allowed our players to track the ball with ease.
We noticed that the ball needed no conditioning, meaning the VPRO Flight was ready for competition right out of the box. We felt it played just a bit slower than the previous tournament ball, but we appreciated that the change in pace contributed to longer firefights. That's not to say the ball is slow, we felt it was as fast or faster than all other competitors. Of the VPRO balls we tested we did have one go out-of-round during play, but the durability and playability of our play testing allotment impressed us overall.
In summary, we feel that competitive players will like the ball. It balances out some of the power in the game and provides the consistent response, bounce, and flight that competition deserves. Recreational players will love the combination of high-visibility and durability the VPRO Flight offers. "
