Babolat started its R&D into pickleball paddles in 2019. They worked very closely with some fantastic high-level players to survey the marketplace, and design a line of shoes that they felt would meet the needs of today's pickleball athletes. With a reputation for high-performance tennis products (including racquets, strings, grips, and court shoes), and extensive experience in the sports of badminton and padel, they were well prepared to deliver first class offerings to the pickleball community. While they are headquartered in Lyon, France, the pickleball team operates from its Colorado office. With over 300 employees worldwide, the pickleball product team leveraged their worldwide engineering, manufacturing, and marketing teams to develop its first two major pickleball paddles - the REBL and the RNGD.
