After playing with the Holbrook Performance Malibu Pickleball Paddle we aren’t sure if we like its balance of style and performance or its balance of control and power more. While we know no paddle can do it all, the Performance Malibu sure gives it the ole’ college try. At the heart of this paddle’s versatility is the FlexTech Carbon Fiber and Graphite Blend hitting surface. Adorned with a stylish graphic, this versatile hitting surface stretches across the defensive 10.75” by 7.8” face. The blended materials balance rigidity for linger time and control with rebound for powerful pop and a smooth feel, allowing us to hit just about any shot in our bag.

The Malibu Pickleball Paddle is part of Holbrook’s performance line, which means it brings the style of the “sport line” with performance that is far closer to the “Pro” line. The FlexTech face is a clear upgrade versus the fiberglass found in the “sport” paddles, as is this paddle’s 14mm Advanced Polypropylene Honeycomb core. The 14mm thickness provides a balance of pop and cushion by expanding the sweet spot to keep off center strikes between the lines, rebounding behind the ball for powerful slams, and a soft feel for confidence and spinning control. The short handle adds consistency by keeping your hand close to the ball, and helps you reload quickly at the net.
