I played with a demo paddle 4-5 sessions at the local club and was really liking the energy it gave me playing. (I was coming from using an SLK Halo XL 16mm for the last 6 months.) My drives were faster and it seemed that my resets from the backline were more consistent. I did hit more serves and returns longer/out than usual, but liked the trade off for better resets. Today I went back to my Halo and fell in love with it again. It felt like the Icon V2 had less touch at the kitchen and a little less control on return of serve. I'll keep both in my bag and probs use the Halo for a game that needs more control and break out the Icon V2 for singles. After playing with the Icon for the last three weeks, I think it needs a little more grip/traction than the "paint" technology. Sweet spot does feel bigger on the Icon V2, which is probably why my resets are better. I also noticed when playing bangers and I block, I need to use a lot less firm grip because they are bouncing out of control a lot.
