Holbrook Aero Pickleball Paddle Lineup Review

The Holbrook Aero Paddle Lineup Explained

Holbrook has released some of the best edgeless paddles on the market with the Aero line thanks to their Dynamic weighting technology that attaches weight to the core of the paddle at key locations to provide stability and power.

Edgeless Done Right

Whenever we hear that a new edgeless paddle is coming out, we get a little nervous that the manufacturer may have sacrificed crucial paddle stability and forgiveness in search of the suave seamless design without an edge guard. Fortunately, Holbrook went into the process of developing the Aero with the intent of bringing the best of both worlds into some incredible packages that we are comfortable calling some of the best edgeless paddles on the market.

Dynamic Weighting Technology

Arguably the most important feature in the new Aero lineup is the inclusion of what Holbrook calls their Dynamic Weighting Technology. Internal weights in each corner stabilize the core, creating a larger sweet spot and increasing power. The lightweight edgeless design enhances speed and maneuverability for a superior playing experience.

Holbrook is the first to bring an edgeless, metallic weave paddle to market, and it was certainly a favorite for a few of our playtesters. The metallic weave actually comes from shiny polyester fibers interwoven with carbon fiber that offer a unique feel that leaves you connected to control shots but confident managing pace.

The Aero T with a raw carbon fiber face provides the high-performance spin needed to compete at the highest level. The extended handle gives plenty of space for two-handed backhands, and the paddle comes in a slightly more powerful 16mm or slightly more control oriented 14mm thickness.

The only difference between the Aero T and X is handle length, and the X has a standard 5.25" handle only slightly shorter than the T's 5.5. Players who don't need as much handle room or who want more forgiveness from the larger face will love the consistent and easy to play with Aero X models.

The Aero S may be one of the best paddles ever made for backhand rolls, and the lightning fast through the air construction makes it one of the best in hands battles as well. The downside for some will be that the 5" handle doesn't leave much room to put two hands on the paddle. Players who want to play ping pong on a pickleball court should definitely consider the Aero S.

Who is Holbrook?

Holbrook is a family company from Utah that takes innovation seriously. We got to sit down with the founders of the company, Breygan and Kasen, where they broke down all that they are doing to push the boundaries of the sport. They do their prototyping and design stateside which most companies don't make the investment to do, and the results speak for themselves.
