Thin and full of pop, the JOOLA Ben Johns Hyperion 14mm 3S Pickleball Paddle marks the newest power paddle designed for one of the best players in the game. This paddle shares the maneuverable Aero Curved shape, 16.5” elongated length, and plenty of other technology with the Gen 3 iteration but backs it up with a refreshed Propulsion Core and a new UPA-A Approval rating (not eligible to be used in USA Pickleball sanctioned events). This new 14mm Propulsion Core suspends a honeycomb core within a foam perimeter to trampoline behind the ball for excellent power, just like the old one. However, it now is a little toned down for a smoother feel that helps us reel in the power of this paddle with a soft feel on impact, slightly increased dwell time, and impressive vibration dampening, as well as the expanded sweet spot and plow through ability we expect when we see a foam perimeter.

The refreshed Propulsion Core found in the 8-ounce JOOLA Ben Johns Hyperion 14mm 3S Pickleball Paddle works in tandem with the returning Charged Carbon surface to help us harness our power. This rigid and highly textured 11” by 7.5” hitting surface allows the ball to dwell, offers a crisp feel on impact, and imparts high RPMs so that our powerful shots and slams paint the lines instead of crashing into the back fence. Finally, the 5.5” handle helps us reach popped up dinks and leaves room for both hands on big backhand shots.
