The JOOLA Ben Johns Hyperion 16mm 3S Pickleball Paddle marks the newest version of Ben’s best-selling paddle. This iteration shares the shape, and many features found in the Gen 3, but brings a new UPA-A Approval rating (not eligible to be used in USA Pickleball sanctioned events) and a slightly tweaked 16mm Propulsion Core to the table. This core still suspends a honeycomb core within a foam perimeter so that it can move separately, but instead of the absurd pop found in the Gen 3, it is more of a smooth and controllable trampolining effect that brings power when we call on it but prevents pop ups around the net. This core still offers the smooth feel, expanded sweet spot, and enhanced plow through that we have come to expect from JOOLA.

With this slightly tweaked core and the return of the uniquely textured Charged Carbon hitting surface, the 8.0-ounce JOOLA Ben Johns Hyperion 16mm 3S Pickleball Paddle provides the control you would expect from a paddle with Ben’s name on it. The 11” x 7.5” hitting surface is largely unchanged, still providing the crisp contact and high RPM’s we expect from a rough textured rigid carbon fiber material. The Aero Curved shape and 5.5” handle combine to balance high swing speed and quick reloads with room for 2 hands on backhands and extra reach around the net.
