Heavyweight/Small Grip

HEAD Radical Tour EX 15mm Pickleball Paddle

Extra reach changes the way points are constructed, especially in hands battles and wide defensive stretches. The HEAD Radical Tour EX Pickleball Paddle builds on the standard Tour platform with a longer 16.5” frame and 5.5” handle, giving us more extension on two handed backhands and added coverage at the kitchen. This thermo-formed shape is especially versatile when paired with the tacky and spin-happy Micro-Forged Raw Carbon face.

Inside, the 15mm Triflex core layers a polypropylene honeycomb center with EPP foam around the perimeter and an EVA outer shell. The honeycomb keeps the rebound crisp, while the foam structure softens vibration and increases dwell time for a broader, more controlled sweet spot. Compared to the standard Radical Tour, the EX feels slightly more powerful through the tip with added leverage on drives and roll volleys, while still maintaining the composed response the Radical line is built around.

Key Features

  • Micro-Forged Raw Carbon Face - Evenly forged raw carbon surface promotes consistent spin, uniform texture, and reliable shot feedback.
  • Triflex Layered Core - Polypropylene honeycomb center with EPP perimeter foam and EVA outer shell for controlled rebound and vibration dampening.
  • 15mm Elongated Power Profile - Mid-thickness construction paired with extended length adds leverage without sacrificing touch.
  • 16.5” Extended Shape - Increased reach and tip acceleration for aggressive counters and two-handed backhands.
  • Hydrosorb Pro Grip - Moisture managing, tacky grip designed for secure handling during long matches.

Expert Snapshot Review

"The EX gives you that extra half step without moving your feet. I noticed more leverage on overheads and drives, but the paddle still felt stable on resets. It plays firm in the center with a softer perimeter, which helps when you are stretched wide." - PickleballCentral Gear Expert

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How does the Tour EX differ from the standard Radical Tour?
A: The EX is longer at 16.5” with a 5.5” handle, offering more reach and leverage while maintaining the same 15mm Triflex core construction.

Q: Is the Tour EX more powerful than the standard Tour?
A: Slightly. The added length increases tip leverage, which can translate to more drive penetration and overhead pace.

Q: Does the elongated shape reduce control?
A: No. The Triflex foam layering keeps vibration in check and preserves a controlled, stable feel across the face.

Q: Who benefits most from the EX shape?
A: Players who use two handed backhands, attack from mid court, or want additional reach for defensive saves.

Q: Is this paddle approved for tournament play?
A: Yes. It is approved by USAP and meets PBCoR .43 requirements.
