How did Dill Dinkers get started, and what inspired you to create a pickleball-focused facility?

Dill Dinkers began in the summer of 2021 when Denise and Will Richards discovered their love for pickleball during their first lesson. By winter, they were so passionate about the game that they were determined to keep playing despite challenges like inclement weather and limited court availability. Often, they spent precious court time cleaning outdoor surfaces to make them safe for play. Frustrated by the lack of indoor court options in their area, Denise searched the county but found very few solutions. Inspired by visits to out-of-state indoor pickleball facilities, the couple realized their community needed a dedicated indoor space. This realization sparked the creation of Dill Dinkers—a pickleball-focused facility designed to provide players with a safe, weatherproof, and accessible environment to enjoy the sport they had come to love.

What makes Dill Dinkers unique compared to other pickleball facilities? What value do you bring to the pickleball community?

Dill Dinkers stands out as a pickleball haven, offering "outdoor-style" indoor courts complete with fencing, designed to replicate the feel of outdoor play while eliminating concerns about weather, sun, or court conditions. Our facilities are purpose-built for pickleball, ensuring high-quality courts, safe play, and a vibrant atmosphere for all players. Plus, there’s no need to bring your own equipment—every Dill Dinkers location provides paddles and balls, so all you have to do is show up and play! We focus on spreading the joy of pickleball by catering to players of all skill levels—whether you're a seasoned pro or a beginner stepping onto the court for the first time. Beyond the game, Dill Dinkers fosters a sense of belonging by creating a community that shares a passion for pickleball.

Can you share more about your current locations and any plans for future expansions? Are there any upcoming openings we should be excited about? 

We are so excited that we will have 14 Dill Dinkers locations open in six states before January comes to a close in 2025 – wow! In the first two quarters of this year, we will be opening additional locations in: 

• Newport, Delaware
• Hatboro, Pennsylvania
• Hilton Head, South Carolina
• Atlanta, Georgia
• San Antonio, Texas
• Chantilly, Virginia.
