Pickle-Ball, Inc. Pickleball Paddles
Pickle-ball, Inc. is the granddaddy of all pickleball manufacturers. It was incorporated in 1972 by
Barney McCallum, one of the three men who, in the summer of 1965, invented rules for a new game named pickleball. Barney McCallum ran Pickle-ball, Inc. as a small side business while he devoted his career to McCallum Envelope, an envelope and printing company. The company is located in Seattle just a short ferry ride from Bainbridge Island where pickleball started. Initially, the company only made wooden paddles. In the
paddle offerings, you’ll notice many types of wooden paddles. Some of these designs date back to the 1970s. In the 1980’s, they began making lightweight honeycomb core paddles with graphite or fiberglass facing. The Champion paddle is their flagship paddle.
