Engage Poach Infinity EX Composite Pickleball Paddle

The Poach Infinity EX Composite Paddle from Engage Pickleball is the next generation of the beloved Poach Advantage Paddle that earned many fans over its long life. This new version features a softer feel thanks to the 6-layer face material and vibration-dampening skin that mitigate impact vibrations, which tend to aggravate pickleball elbow and muscle soreness. Incredible responsiveness and control are the name of the Infinity game. This unique approach to layering on the paddle face is augmented by omni-directional texturing for spin control, enhancing your cut serves. This surface texture is applied evenly with superior bonding techniques, resulting in wonderful consistency and durability so you won't experience the texture wearing away, even after prolonged use.

The Poach Infinity EX Composite Paddle is offered in two weight ranges; a LITE 7.5 - 7.8 oz. model, and a Standard 7.9 - 8.3 oz. model. It has a 5.25" long handle, with a medium (4.25") circumference, that arrives wrapped in Engage's ultra-perforated cushion grip which absorbs sweat and draws it away from the hand. The Infinity EX's overall length is 16.0", while the width is a full 8" so you can enjoy the advantages of a generous sweet spot, great blocking ability, and reactive play. The core is manufactured from Engage's proprietary Control Pro Black Polymer Honeycomb which, when combined with the 6-layer face material, provides a high degree of finesse and touch.

The Poach Infinity EX Composite Paddle by Engage Pickleball is the next generation of a legendary paddle, which will surely win some converts of its own.

Actual grip sizes may vary up to 1/8".

Reviews of the Poach Infinity EX Paddle by Pickleball Central Staff:

"Engage has always been known for their power paddles. Their line has as much power as any on the market. The problem for me has always been harnessing that power. When they came out with the Poach Advantage, I loved it because I felt I could control it. The new Poach Infinity EX is even better!

I used to carry the Poach Advantage in my bag for the days I felt I needed a Power Paddle. The only issue I had with the Poach Advantage was that I sometimes over-hit with a direct sweet spot strike. By contrast, I find the Poach Infinity EX to be very consistent at the sweet spot, no more “hot hits.” I can get the extra pop AND keep the ball between the lines.

The core thickness is a traditional 1/2” (like the
Elite Pro, Elite Pro Maverick and original Encore Composite) helping provide the pop. However, due to the 6-layer composite skin on the face, this paddle plays softer (more like the Trident or the Poach Icon). The Poach Infinity EX comes in Lite (7.5 – 8.0 oz.) and Standard (8.0 - 8.5 oz.) weight ranges. Handle length is longer than average at 5.5” and has one grip option at 4 1/4” in circumference.

Overall, I found the net play to be consistent, but I did need a game to dial it in. Once I did, I felt the Poach Infinity EX helped me handle windy conditions, and feel confident in the short game. For "all court" players who like a little power, the Poach Infinity is a must try."

"The Poach Infinity EX is a great balance of touch, control, and put-away power. I am a huge fan of paddles with a textured surface, and the Poach Infinity EX's textured face excels at allowing me to put the perfect amount of spin on the ball. I am able to reset shots and cushion blocks better thanks to the soft play of the paddle. As a player who naturally generates power, I was easily able to put away balls even with the 7.6 oz lightweight version of this paddle. Engage has won this player over with the release of the new Poach Infinity EX; I just might have found my new go-to paddle!"

I tried it for two days and then returned it. The handle is fine, the weight distribution is fine; but I found the surface to be quite hard and loud; I returned the paddle mostly because I need precise control I thought this was a weakness. (My level is 3.8-4.0)

I have ordered many times from Pickleball Central. Pickleball paddles have been great. I have loved the Poach Infinity Ex Paddle. I had a problem with one of my paddles that had a warranty. Pickleball Central sent me a new one immediately and sent a postage paid padded package to send the defective one back. Great company to work with.

  • Soft feel, good shock absorption

I bought this paddle specifically because it was advertised as being designed to help with tennis elbow issues. I have that condition and a paddle that absorbs and mitigates shock is paramount for me. This paddle does a good job of that and plays well. For anyone reading this I also strongly recommend the Oneshot Pureshot Brian Ashworth Series Paddle which I personally think is a slightly better paddle and does an even better job of absorbing shock and playing extremely well.
