GAMMA 206 Riley Newman Composite Pickleball Paddle

The GAMMA 206 Riley Newman Signature Pickleball Paddle is all about power + control, dynamic play, with the bonus of a shock-dampening core. The 16-3/8" length of this paddle is perfect for broad court coverage and strong follow through. At its core is GAMMA's NeuCore polypropylene material, which is 25% thicker than standard honeycomb cores and results in a gentle feel on impact. The face utilizes a textured composite fiberglass which creates "pop" and allows for intuitive spin.

The look of the eye-catching GAMMA 206 paddle was inspired by the colors of the NHL's Seattle Kraken hockey team, Riley's favorite, while the model name "206" is a reference to Seattle's area code. It has a 5-1/4" long handle which leaves it feeling well suited for double-handed backhands (ever watch Riley play?). It weighs an average of 8 oz. so it provides plenty of power to catch opponents out of position. The handle is wrapped with GAMMA’s popular Honeycomb Cushion Grip which not only feels comfortable, but keeps sweat away from your hands and prevents slips thanks to its tacky finish.

The "206" Riley Newman Signature Composite Pickleball Paddle from GAMMA is an impressive, accurate-hitting choice for higher level players looking for equipment that can match a vigorous style of play.

Actual grip sizes may vary up to 1/8".

Test Reviews of the Gamma 206 Pickleball Paddle:

"I have tried many different paddles over the 11 years that I have been playing the wonderful game of Pickleball. The advancement made in the technology used to make these paddles has increased exponentially as the game has become more and more popular over time and players demand better and better paddles. Nowadays paddles have different configurations as far as the length, width, and thickness of the head of the paddle, the smooth or textured surface of the paddle face, the length and circumference of the handle, as well as the weight. Some folks like the light weight for speed and some heavier for power. So, depending on what kind game you like to play, power or control with more dinking, you might choose one paddle over another.

Gamma's newest Pickleball paddle, the Riley Newman Signature 206 paddle with NeuCore Technology packs quite a wallop! Most of the 8 ounces feels like it's in the head of the paddle which gives it its explosive power. Gamma's Honeycomb grip makes holding this paddle comfortable and the tackiness makes for a good solid grip. The handle has an extended length (5 1/4" long) for those who have a two-handed backhand or for those who, like myself, switch hands...the two-forehand style of play. Another thing about the handle is that it's more like a tennis racquet as it is squared off which makes it easier to switch grips for forehand or backhand strokes, if that's your style of play. The circumference of the handle (4 1/8") is a good size for both men's and women's hand sizes. I would say for those who like to play a power game and also like to put spin on the ball (as the surface has a nice texture to it for spin control) this is the paddle for you."

"The Riley Newman Signature GAMMA 206 Pickleball Paddle is a great midweight paddle weighing in at about 8 ounces. It is very balanced in regard to power without any loss of control, and it felt comfortable from the first time I used it. The paddle has an extended length of 16 3/8 inches...creating a larger sweet spot. The handle length of 5 1/4 inches is great for the two-handed player and to reach out for wide balls. The GAMMA Honeycomb Cushion Grip provided a non-slip tackiness for greater control and comfort. The 3rd shot drop seemed to be easier and the dinks seemed more controllable allowing for cross court accuracy. Resets from the transition area are easier to control, and the paddle promotes a solid volley at the net. The 206 paddle improved my spin shots, utilizing the textured composite surface. I have tried many different paddles in the past and in my opinion, the 206 is definitely a leader."

Made in the USA! Great control on this paddle but offers enough pop to put away a ball. It is a very fun paddle to play with!

This paddle played well out of the box. It was a little less forgiving than my Prince Response Pro but offered a bit more power and the extended reach allows me to get to more balls. Paddle does well with control if you hit it cleanly and I found it to be very good at the net. My resets have improved and though it takes more effort to get spin the longer paddle allows me to torque balls struck toward the end and generate adequate spin on drives and serves. I was surprised that my defensive shots/blocks seemed to also improve even though the 8.1 oz. paddle was just a bit heavier than my 8.0 Prince. Grip was a bit cheap feeling (Typical Gamma in my opinion) but nothing an over grip doesn't fix. I would definitely recommend. Made In America! Pickleball Central deserves accolades as well. They are always super helpful and professional.
