Babolat RBEL Pickleball Paddle

Be A Babolat Rebel - Join the RBELYON!

The Babolat RBEL Pickleball Paddle has a sensitive feel combined with shock resistant, dynamic design. The RBEL comes in two versions: the Touch and Power. Both of these models have the same composition and dimensions, but vary in weight. The Touch is lighter with a 7.6 oz average while the Power sits around 8.1 oz. Choose whether you want more speed or extra heft for slams with this adaptable piece of equipment.

The Babolat RBEL Pickleball Paddle has a graphite face and polypropylene core which is very sturdy but allows players to feel connected to their swings. The handle is 5” long so that you have a little extra room for paddle manipulation but get to enjoy a large surface area. The moisture-absorbing grip has a small circumference so that you aren’t battling against bulk, although you can add an overgrip for additional padding.

The Babolat RBEL Pickleball Paddle is made to accommodate various play styles while providing you with comfort, protection and control.

Actual grip sizes may vary up to 1/8"

All Babolat products are covered by a 12-month manufacturer's warranty against defects.

Reviews of the Babolat RBEL Pickleball Paddles by Pickleball Central Staff:

"The tagline in the promotional literature included with the paddle says "Join The RBELYON" which is a riff on Babolat's roots as company based in Lyon, France. The overall design aesthetic is creative, modern, and edgy. Featuring a signature bright yellow edge guard, the vibrant graphics, this paddle stands out on the court.

Our play group tested both the 7.7 ounce RBEL Touch model, and the 8.2 ounce RBEL Power version. Both paddles feature the same EVA Polypropylene core and Graphite skin. The texture on the Babolat RBEL is rougher on this RBEL model (vs it's fiberglass RNGD counterpart) giving me confidence hitting cut backhands and dinks, or topspin rollers.

The sweet spot on the RBEL is a bit larger and more linearly consistent than on the RNGD, but with slightly less power at the center - typical of a graphite faced paddle when compared to a fiberglass model. Play testers who typically play with thick core or graphite models immediately gravitated to the RBEL model and noted now the paddle was immediately comfortable in ball control shots like drops, and shaped shots with spin.

The paddle feels incredibly well built, and the grip is exceptionally comfortable. Babolat knows a lot about making world class grips, and they use a high quality one on this paddle. The shape of the grip is a typical tennis inspired oval format octagon shape, very easy to index if you change your grip during play.

This will definitely be a successful paddle for Babolat. If you are looking for a paddle that has a nicely textured face with a large consistent sweet spot, then this is one you should check out."

"When you hear the name Babolat connected with a paddle sport, you have a certain expectation of quality. With their initial entry into the pickleball market they delivered a VERY solid product. The Babolat RBEL (pronounced Rebel) is an all court paddle that emphasizes control. That doesn’t mean the ball doesn’t pop off the paddle, it does. It is just not as much as the RNGD (their fiberglass faced model - reviewed separately). The 1/2" thick core and the Graphite Skinned Composite face combine to give this paddle predictability in play. I was able to choose to drive or drop my thirds, and I found that this paddle helped me get to the net. Once at the net, the dinks were consistent, and I was able to keep them low and out of trouble. The handle on the Babolat paddles is slightly longer, giving it a bit of a tennis grip feel. It is very comfortable and allowed an occasional second hand to come to the grip for a two-handed backhand.

With the two versions of this paddle (Power and Touch) I preferred the slightly heavier Power version - it being an 8.2 ounce test unit. I felt the extra weight helped me personally with the drives (I like to drive a fair number of thirds). If you are more of a total control player, I think the Touch is for you.

Overall, the quality design and construction gave me a paddle I felt I could count on. And I feel they hit the price point just right on this paddle. "

I like the light weight although the grip is a little larger than I anticipated. Have played about 6 times with it and no complaints.

Like it better than my Pursuit EX 6.0 lite. 3.5-4 senior. Better touch. Same power and spin.
