adidas RX20 Fiberglass Pickleball Paddle

The adidas RX20 composite fiberglass paddle combines the two most powerful aspects of the adidas line up – a fiberglass face and a low-density 14.28mm (0.56") thick polymer honeycomb core. This makes getting shots over the net a breeze. The paddle's overall dimensions are a standard 16" long by 8" wide, which makes blocking your opponent's hard drives at the net easier. And the sharp design is highlighted by the signature adidas stripes.

The adidas RX20 paddle has a small grip circumference, at 4-1/8" which makes it usable by a large number of players; the handle is 4-3/4" long. The frame is carbon reinforced to provide torsional stability and durability, while the face is given adidas' Spin Blade technology to enhance ball control.

The RX20 Fiberglass Composite Pickleball Paddle by adidas is a fantastic choice for intermediate players.

  • Large Sweet Spot

    Sep 21, 2021

I recently had the chance to play with the new Adidas RX20 pickleball paddle for a few hours. I'm a mid-level ladies' player, and here's my review. The paddle has the "traditional" dimensions of approximately 16" by 8", with a weight of approximately 8 ounces and about a 4-inch (in circumference) grip. I normally play with a lighter paddle but I enjoyed this weight because it seemed to give me more power when I wanted to smack the ball harder. The full-sized handle length (4 3/4") also helped me when I wanted to whack the ball, because I could easily use two hands to do it. That said, what I really liked most about this paddle was how the ball seemed to stick to it, and how I was able to control so many of my shots because of the softer surface. I normally try to play a "soft" game, mostly at the net, and the RX20 seemed to give me a greater level of control in placing my shots. To that end, the paddle really seemed to have a large sweet spot and I had great success particularly when playing cross-court dinks back and forth. In short, this definitely seems to be a paddle ideally suited for the "control" type of player.

  • Good Power, Good Spin Control

    Sep 20, 2021

Sherill's favorite! Not quite as powerful as some other - but has excellent control and offers good resetting capability with a slightly softer touch. It also generates slightly more spin off the surface and thus combined with the touch provides excellent finesse capability. This paddle was excellent around the net when control was mandatory. It is solid on drives. Not quite as powerful as the Adipower ATTK - but gives more spin control and thus excellent for use in creating pressure on opponents through placement and spin. The sweet spot is centered and makes solid shots. Power is good - both overheads and ground strokes have good zip. Good power, with slightly more spin control capability. The paddle grip felt comfortable (even though we both typically take a slightly smaller grip) this was quite comfortable and felt good with the paddle on contact. The design is striking - and while not as bright as the other two paddles our club tested, it was noticeable and again as others tried the paddle - the comments were positive. The overall weight distribution was good. No issues in using the paddle and getting comfortable with it - it seemed to play comfortably out of the wrapper.

  • Good Spin

    Sep 20, 2021

The RX20 was a great paddle for touch and control. It has good spin qualities with control. While exhibiting good power and control, I was most impressed with soft touch control and control of spin shots. Defensively it allowed controlled returns of power shots with reasonable ease. The grip was comfortable and the feel was excellent when striking the ball. In particular I found the paddle to exhibit controlled softness in returning shots - without sacrificing power when needed. The ability to control spin and return spin was very good. The surface is smooth - but still provides a tactile feel when contacting the ball and thus provides good spin control. The sweet spot is well positioned in center and appears to extend to the outer edges before giving up solid connectivity of the shot. Dinking with the paddle was easy and without a long warm up to get used to the touch it provides. The quality of the construction speaks for itself. The paddle made contact well over most of the paddle surface with no loss of control. This paddle has good range and I would suspect an intermediate player or an advanced player who works well in defensive control and who emphasizes the soft game would excel with this paddle.
